Roger "Sid" J. Weeks, 68, of Johnstown, entered the arms of his Lord and Savior on February 11, 2024, at Windber Hospice with the love and support of his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by parents, Warren, and Dorothy Weeks; nephew, Matthew Weeks; and niece, Amy Weeks.
He is survived by his children: Kylie Weeks and partner Tim Chippie, Jordan Weeks and wife Jenna Ricci, Logan Weeks, Mariah Weeks, Tessa Weeks, and Landon Weeks and beloved grandchildren, Iryss Chippie and Lorenzo Weeks and grandpup, Oakley, all from Johnstown as well as siblings: Sandi Wallace (Bob) of Johnstown, Paul Weeks (Sarah) of Texas, Jerry Weeks (Joanie) of Texas, Judy Duffy (Mike) of Delaware, and Jil Froelich (Carl) of Indiana and many extended family members and cherished friends.
Sid graduated from Richland High School in 1974 where he played basketball for the Rams. A lifetime sports enthusiast, he participated in various activities throughout his life including baseball, basketball, weightlifting, golf, softball, and fishing but he mostly loved supporting his children in their sports and life endeavors. Sid had various positions in the healthcare field, most recently as a Respiratory Therapist at Excela Health Latrobe Hospital for over 20 years. He was an enthusiastic member of the Johnstown Seventh-Day Adventist Church where he served as Deacon for several years. He was dedicated to his church family and despite health issues, he enjoyed taking care of the church grounds.
God blessed Sid with a caring and generous spirit and an endearing sense of humor that drew people to him as evidenced by his countless friendships.
Friends received from Noon to 3 PM, Thursday, February 15, 2024, at Frank Duca Funeral Home, Westmont Chapel, 1622 Menoher Blvd., Johnstown, PA 15905, with a Memorial Service beginning at 3 PM at the Funeral Home, Pastor John Caddy officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Roger “Sid” Weeks to Johnstown Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 1035 Goucher Street, Johnstown, PA 15905, or to Windber Hospice, 600 Somerset Avenue, Windber, PA 15963, where he was compassionately cared for by Dr. Kelly Warshel and her amazing staff.
