Bridget Byrne, 82, of Westmont, passed away peacefully April 17th, 2024 in Johnstown, PA, she was born October 17, 1941 in Pittsburgh, PA, daughter of Albert and Helen (Kwiecinski) Palmiere.
Preceded in death by her parents, husband Thomas A. Sr. in 2017, brother Albert Palmiere and sister Joan Desanders.
Survived by loving children Colleen (Steve) Frank, Renee (Christopher) Toth, Bridget (Kevin) Poole of Latrobe, and Thomas A. Jr. (Beverly) of Maryland, grandchildren Katie McKinney (Alan), Stephanie (Mary Kate), Sander, Stephanie (Tim), Stacie (Sean), Rachael (Brock), Connor, Angelina (Samantha), Isaac, Abigail, Jessica, Zachary (Jordan), Colin, great grandchildren Finn and Luci, numerous nieces and nephews, brothers in law and sisters in law.
Bridget was born and raised in Pittsburgh where she met the love of her life, Tom and started her family. They moved to Johnstown and became very active in the community and all of her children's activities throughout their lives. She enjoyed attending her children's and grandchildren's events. Her family was her life.
Bridget worked at Conemaugh Memorial Hospital with over 30 years’ service where she was a receptionist at the E.R., ASU and for Dr. Rollins’ office. Her welcoming smile, vivacious personality, and kind words made her a special person to all that met her. She was a member of the Conemaugh Hospital Auxiliary, and was an EMT for West Hills Fire Department and was a lifelong volunteer/participant in the community.
She was welcoming to all who entered her home where you were met with great conversation and a great meal. Bridget was a loving and devoted wife, mother, Nana, and Gigi. Bridget had a zest for life and will be missed by so many.
Friends received Sunday, April 21, 2024 from 3-7 PM at the Frank Duca Funeral Home, Westmont Chapel, 1622 Menoher Blvd.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, April 22, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church. Very Rev. Mark Begly.
