Joseph Ricci Obituary

Joseph Anthony Ricci, 90, of Richland Township died on November 14, 2020. He was born in Altoona, PA on May 12, 1930, Son of late Lawrence and Anne Marie (Petrogallo) Ricci.

Preceded in death by his parents and brother, Dr. Robert G. Ricci (Leawood, KS) and brother John Solari (Pittsburgh, PA).

Joe is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Helen Ricci (Tamburrino); their two children Claudia Clow (Roger) of Solon, OH; and Martin J. Ricci (Deborah Lombardi) of Johnstown, PA; their three grandchildren Sheena Selapack (James), Jenna Ricci Dykes and Natalie Epifanio; their great grandchildren Atlas James, India Sage and Ezra Andrew.

Joe graduated from Altoona High School in 1948 and was a graduate of Franklin School of Art and Science Institute Philadelphia. He was an X-ray instructor at Windber Hospital in 1954 and then went to St. Joseph Hospital in Reading, PA. He then went to be a pharmaceutical representative for Wyeth Ayerst Lab and later retired from Pfizer Lab. Joe had an honorary discharge from the Naval Reserves and served in the U.S. Army in Stuttgart, Germany at the Fifth General Hospital.

Joe enjoyed living in Naples, FL during the winter months with his wife Helen. They enjoyed golfing and being with friends. Joe’s proudest achievement was his family. Joe was a devoted father who loved his children and was very proud of their accomplishments. He loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren and lived to see the last great grandchild arrive November 7th.

He was a longtime member of St. Benedict Catholic Church.

Private funeral service held for the family, Fr. David Peles. Private entombment, Richland Mausoleum with Military Ritual performed by VFW Post 155. Due to COVID restrictions, there will be no public viewing.

At a later date, the family will have a celebration of life for Joe.
