Josephine “Vicki” Kasuba Obituary

Josephine “Vicki” (Camut) Kasuba, 80, Johnstown Leap Year 1940, Vicki was born on Thursday, February 29th in Johnstown and on Saturday, January 2nd , 2021, the Lord reached out his hand to lead her home to be reunited with the love of her life, her husband, Francis Kasuba who passed away in 1969; her parents Mary (Pentz) and Samuel Camut; brother Joseph Camut; brother-in-law George Appley Jr.; sister-in-law Helen (Bodie) Camut; and daughter-in-law Laura (Weber) Kasuba.

A lot of our family time revolved around the kitchen. Vicki loved sharing her talents that she learned from her mother with her children and grandchildren. We will forever cherish our time around the table rolling meatballs and totos. Vicki’s memory will live on in the stories she frequently told to her children and their families; Frank and Julie (Maio) Kasuba and their children Domenic, Kristin, and Christopher; David Kasuba and his son Anthony; Stephanie and Brian Paratore and their children Austin, Jenna, Samuel, and Noelle.

Vicki will also be tremendously missed by her sister Frances Appley and brothers and sisters-in-law; Donald and Jackie Camut; Charlie Camut; Ross and Marie Camut; and Judy Camut.

There were countless memories made at our family reunions, Aunties Christmas Parties and other family gatherings with her loving Aunts, Uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Vicki’s laugh, sense of humor and kindness will be missed and remembered forever.

While Vicki’s family was her passion in life, her favorite past times were cheering on the Pittsburgh Penguins, gambling with her siblings, watching Jesse Watters on The Five and Days of our Lives, and taking the grandkids to Eat & Park…just because. After graduating from Greater Johnstown High School, Vicki met some of her very best friends when she worked at Bestform, Toy Ladies, Law’s Jewelry, and Lee Hospital. She mostly enjoyed the monthly lunch dates with the girls from Lee Hospital, whom were some of her dearest friends along with Betty Lou and the neighbors of Shady Lane.
