Lorelei “Lorri” Frances (Rolish) Hickey, 78 of Richland died May 8, 2023, at Arbutus Park Manor. Born on December 30, 1944, in Johnstown, daughter of Frank and Mary (Mouer) Rolish.
Preceded in death by husband William, parents, and sister Mary Waronek. Survived by daughters Kirsten Hickey (Ralph Bretz) and Erin Malzi; sister Margaret Ciupak, wife of Victor; loving grandchildren Ethan and Cassidy Malzi; son-in-law Ron Malzi.
Lorri was a graduate of Franklin High School. Prior to getting married, she worked at Ford Motor Credit. She left the workforce to raise her daughters and spent many days volunteering at the kids’ school supervising the playground at lunch time, planning classroom parties, and chaperoning field trips. She was a long-time employee of Cambria County and then of Medical Transcription Service before retiring in 2016.
She was a devoted wife and mother, but her grandchildren held a special place in her heart. Her granddaughter was her “sunshine.” Although physically unable to attend most events, she was always their biggest supporter took great pride in seeing her grandson graduate from college before she was called home.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Windber Hospice and Arbutus Park Manor. They would also like to thank her aide and companion Judy Horner whose presence over the last year was invaluable.
Friends received from 4-7 PM on Thursday, May 11, 2023, at Frank Duca Funeral Home, East Hills Chapel and Crematory, 404 Walters Ave. Friends and family will meet for a Funeral Mass on Friday at 1:00 PM at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Fr. David Peles. Private entombment will be held at Richland Mausoleum.
