Malcolm Snyder Obituary

Malcolm R. Snyder, 82, of Southmont, died on September 6, 2022, at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center. Born on October 9, 1939, in Reynoldsville PA, son of Richard B. and Lela Mae (Pifer) Snyder.

Preceded in death by his parents, and granddaughter Sophia Mae.

Survived by his loving wife of 59 years Doris Mae (Davis) Snyder, daughter Jeanneane Snyder, and son Richard Snyder, 3 grandchildren, Max Snyder, Leah Prince, and Aaron Merlino, and 3 great-grandchildren Caden Prince, Kyle Prince, Ethan Merlino, brother Robert Snyder, sisters Lucille Richards, Gail Alexander, and Betty Hollabaugh, and also survived by nieces.

Malcolm was a graduate of Brady Township High School. He had taken numerous college courses at Clarion University, and Robert Morris. He was a 1976 graduate of the BMA School of Marketing and a 1982 graduate of the Stonier School of Banking. Malcolm joined US Bank in 1987 as an assistant cashier and manager of bank services and retired from Ameriserv as Assistant Vice President.

After his retirement, Malcolm was a full-time volunteer for Habitat for Humanity and was the Project Coordinator of the Home Repair Program for Johnstown United Methodist Parish "JUMP".

A Memorial Service will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, September 10, 2022 at Franklin Street United Methodist, 510 Locust St., Johnstown PA 15901.

Contributions can be directed to "JUMP", Johnstown United Methodist Parish, Inc., c/o Franklin Street United Methodist, 510 Locust Street, Johnstown PA 15901. This organization gives help and hope to the elderly and low-income homeowners in the Johnstown Community who need home repairs.
