Richard “Rick” Andolina Obituary

Richard “Rick” Andolina, 67, of Johnstown, our brother and uncle, curmudgeon and grump, passed away May 23rd following a brief but determined battle with the cancer he gave the finger to for over a year. Preceded in death by his parents Charles “Chiz” and Helen (Crupi), brother Charlie and sister-in-law Raynette (Betts), nephew Larry Laveley, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He will be missed by his sisters, whom he delighted in torturing, Sandy Huelsenbeck (Roy) and Michele; nephews Chuck (Dawn) and Damon (Melissa); great-nieces Briana, Lindsey, Jillian, and Jocelyn; great-great niece Aria and great-great nephew Draeden, and scores of relatives.

Rick sought adventure from coast to coast, making many friends along the way. He lived in the moment and enjoyed a good time wherever he could find it. While quick with a smile and laugh, he was equally quick with an argument if you disagreed with him. About anything. Ever. And boy, could he hold a grudge. Rick loved doing his “research” and believed anything he ever read on the Internet. His favorite pastime in recent years was scratch-off lottery tickets, with not a winner among the many stacks of them he leaves behind.

At Rick’s request there will be no viewing. The family suggests you raise a glass to his memory and the adventure of life at your favorite corner bar with his favorite 1970’s music playing. But not disco. He hated disco.

Friends and family are invited to attend a graveside service on Thursday, June 1st at 2:30 PM at St. Anthony Cemetery, Geistown.

Funeral arrangements entrusted to Frank Duca Funeral Home, Westmont Chapel, 1622 Menoher Blvd. Johnstown PA 15905. Condolences and other information can be found at www.ducafuneralhome.com.
