Virginia Ruth Ramos, 90, formerly of Johnstown, died January 26, 2020 at Manor Care Nursing Home, Bethel Park. Born October 19, 1929 in Johnstown, daughter of Frederico and Josephine (Alanese) Oliveros.
Preceded in death by her parents, husband William L. Ramos, son Robert, and sister Mary.
Survived by children: sons, Bill Ramos, Mark Ramos and daughter Linda Ostermeyer, all of Pittsburgh; grandchildren Zachary Ramos (Caitlin) of Chicago, Benjamin Ramos of New York City, Rebecca Ramos of Chicago, Lucas Ostermeyer (Jennifer) of Murrysville and William Ostermeyer of Pittsburgh; great grandsons Oliver, Peter and Elliott of Chicago; brother Fred (Barbara) of Johnstown, sister Marina of Johnstown and brother Louis of St. Petersburg, Florida. Also numerous nieces, nephews and in-laws.
Virginia worked as a seamstress at Kay Artley for many years and ended her working career with 30 years of service at the Holiday Inn of Johnstown.
Virginia enjoyed her family as well as some of her pastimes like bingo, playing cards with friends and numerous family gatherings. She was noted for some of her special Mexican dishes like enchiladas and pork chili which she served at numerous holiday gatherings. She loved to attend the sporting events of her children and grandchildren especially football games.
Virginia was a lifelong member of St. Anthony's Parish (St. Clare of Assisi) and the Woman's Auxiliary of the Woodvale Athletic Club.
All services will be private at request of the family.
