Carol A. Hrzic

Carol A. Hrzic, 74, of Westmont, died on December 12, 2019 at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center. Born September 15, 1945 in Johnstown, daughter of the late Mitchell and Victoria (Sahlaney) Shahade.

Survived by her loving husband Gerard Hrzic of 45 years, son Jeffrey married to Jaime (Gallagher) of New Jersey, daughter Amy and fiancé Braden Bice of Mercer PA, granddaughter Kaitlyn Bice, who she loved so dearly, and sister Linda Coyle.

Carol was a 1963 graduate of Westmont Hilltop High School. She received a bachelor’s in education from IUP and received her master’s equivalency. She taught as a Math teacher at Johnstown Schools for over 30 years. She was a member of the Elks BPOE 175 Ladies Auxiliary, PASR and PSEA. Carol touched many lives throughout her life and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who will be dearly missed.

She was a longtime member of Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church where Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, December 19, 2019 at 10:30 AM. Very Rev. Mark S. Begly. Friends received from 3-7 PM on Wednesday at the Frank Duca Funeral Home, Westmont Chapel, 1622 Menoher Blvd. Johnstown PA 15905. Interment, Grandview Cemetery.
