Charlene Katherine Tarnowsky

Charlene Katherine Tarnowsky, 42, of Johnstown, entered Eternal Rest on May 24, 2019 at home. Born July 24, 1976 in Johnstown, daughter of Charles W. Tarnowsky and Esperanza (Murillo) Bair.

Preceded in death by her Father Charles, special Aunts and Uncles from the Tarnowsky, Murillo, Gilmour, Prieto, Heider, and Bumbernick Families, Paternal and Maternal Grandparents.

Survived by her Loving Mother Esperanza (Murillo) Bair, Dad John E. Bair, Brother Charles Schilling, Great Aunt and Godmother Ruth Arellano, Uncle William Murillo (Debbie), Aunts Sister Rita Murillo C.S.J., Aurora Gilmour, Kathleen Bumbernick (Jim), and Juliette Keelan (Bernie), Great Aunt FloAnn Arellano and numerous loving cousins and relatives; special friends Heather Bugal, April Barmoy, Living Kidney Donor Nikki McAdams, Mike Zimmerman, Sam Esposito and her DaVita Family. Charlene was blessed with such an abundance of good loving friends, both in Johnstown and Frederick, MD.  Also her loving pets Pal, Scrappy, and Izzy.

Charlene was a 1995 graduate of GJ VoTech and C.C. Community College, Class of 2000. She was employed for many years at Merho Federal Credit Union, Eckerd Drug Store, Johnstown Christian Home, and also Fort Detrick Post PX in Frederick, MD.

She was recently involved with C.O.R.E., helping to educate the public on the importance of Organ Donations.

Charlene was so full of life. She fought many battles including juvenile diabetes, a kidney and pancreas transplant, a heart surgery and a live kidney transplant in  June 2018. Charlene took everything in stride, she did not let anyone or anything bring her down. She was so strong and determined. Charlene had a beautiful smile and wonderful giggle that was so magnetic and could light up any room.

She practiced her Catholic Faith and attended Mass at St. John Gualbert Cathedral, Visitation B.V.M., and St. Therese Church.

She was a loving daughter, sister, niece, cousin, and friend who will be sadly missed.

Friends received on Wednesday, May 29, 2019 from 12 Noon until time of Funeral Mass at 2 PM at St. Therese Catholic Church, 536 Decker Avenue, Johnstown PA 15906. Rev. Bernard Karmonocky, O.F.M. Private Interment, St. John Gualbert Cemetery.
