Anna Hughes Obituary

Anna J. (Moreau) Hughes, 102, of Richland, Went to be with the Lord and join her beloved husband George on July 17, 2020. She passed away peacefully at the Forest Hills Personal Care Home, under the attentive care of the nurses and aids from Windber Hospice.

Born May 15th, 1918 in Johnstown, PA, she was the daughter of John and Margret Reed. Preceded in death by her husband George, brothers Robert and William Reed, son-in-law Frank Bushwack, daughter-in-law, Georgette (Minor) Moreau and grandson Kevin Goulette.

She is survived by her children Carleen (Moreau) Bushwack,  of Oakdale, CT; Linda (Moreau) Haynes of South Fork, PA; and son Jay Moreau of Oakdale, CT. Also survived by her sister Eunice (Reed) Kehl of Fort Myers, FL. and many nieces and nephews.

Anna Jeanne was blessed with 14 Grandchildren, 17 Great Grandchildren, and 7 Great-Great Grandchildren.

Anna was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church and a life member of Solomon Run Ladies Aux. She was an LPN nurse for many years and took care of all the newborns in the hospital. She enjoyed many years with her hubby, kicking up her heels with the “Track-2 Square Dancing Club”.  She was an avid reader and had over 2000 books on her kindle. She did puzzles, books, and activities to keep her mind sharp and her body moving. Her house was always open to her family, friends, and neighbors, where many memories were made.

During her last years at home, she had great care givers, Rhonda, who gave her a hard time almost every day to exercise and eat things she did not like. Barbara always brought her favorite meal of McDonald's burger and french fries with lots and lots of ketchup.

Peggy gave her companionship and helped with her daily needs, and Linda spent many hours during the day and night to make sure she was safe in her many trips  and to just sit and talk to calm her through her restless and bad nights.
