Anthony Charles "Tony" Perry Obituary

Anthony Charles "Tony" Perry, 91, of Upper Yoder Twp., died on September 20, 2020. Born on November 7, 1928 in Johnstown, son of the late Edward J. and Catherine (Costanzo) Perry.

Preceded in death by his parents, and sister Theresa Weinberg.

Survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Carmela (Sartiano); children, Mary Beth LaBelle, wife of Craig, Williamsburg VA, Catherine Camut, wife of Anthony, Cranberry Twp. PA, Edward Perry, married to Malthy, Spears, PA; grandchildren, Joseph Camut (Deanna), Andrea Camut, Maren LaBelle, and Stephanie Perry; great grandchildren, Audriana and Axton Camut; sisters, Constance Newett and Geraldine Perry, both of MD; sisters and brothers-in-law, Palma and John Pencola, Frank and Karen Sartiano, Charles and Barbara Sartiano.

Also, numerous nieces, nephews, and special cousins Earl and Carmelinda Berkebile, in thanks for all their help.

Anthony was a graduate of Greater Johnstown High School, Class of 1946, and a graduate of US Army Technical School, Class of 1952. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict, and was active duty for 3 1/2 years, and 4 1/2 years ready reserve. He was a former associate for the Continental Coffee Company and Sysco Companies for 35 years. He received his PA Real Estate License from the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown in 1971. Mr. Perry was a Legislative Assistant for the former Rep. Edward Wojnaroski Sr., and Rep. Bryan Barbin.

He served on the Planning Commission of Westmont Borough, and on the Tax Assessment Board in Ebensburg. He was a member and Past President of the ISDA Lodge 214, a member of the Elks Lodge, Union Social, Veteran's Association and Retirement Men's Club.

Anthony's proudest achievement was his family, and he always put them first.

Due to the Covid 19 restrictions and Anthony's wishes, there will be no public viewing.

Tony was a former usher and member of Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church for over 20 years, where friends and family are invited to attend his Funeral Mass on Thursday, September 24, 2020 at 11:00 AM. Very Rev. Mark S. Begly and Father Bernard Karmonocky, Anthony's godson. Private Interment, St. Anthony's Cemetery, Geistown.

The family would like to acknowledge the excellent and compassionate care that Anthony  received from the 3rd Floor nursing staff at Select Specialty Hospital.
