Catherine M. "Khak" Stephens, 88 of Johnstown passed away July 26, 2025 in Windber. Born September 7,1936 in Johnstown Pa. Daughter of Barney and Anna (Turkovich) Hanzek.
Preceded in death by her parents, husband John "Jack:, daughter Cathy, son John, granddaughter Sherry, grandson Shawn, and daughter-in-law Michelle (Gibson), son-in-law Chester Cheroki, brothers Stephen, Butch , Frank and Joe Hanzek, sisters Liz Rummel and Lucy Lobi, brother-in-law William Stephens.
Survived by loving children, Kenneth, Joseph, Mary Cheroki, and Anna Stephens, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, brother John Hanzek, sisters-in-law Audrey Uncapher and Sue Stephens, Jacqueline "Jackie" Cowan, also many nieces, nephews and friends.
She retired from Conemaugh Memorial Hospital after 25 years. Catherine was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. She dedicated her life to her family. She was a giving person and would lend a hand to anyone.
Friends received 6-8 PM Thursday July 31, 2025 at Frank Duca Funeral Home, Westmont Chapel, 1622 Menoher Blvd. 15905.
Private interment at St. John Cemetery next to her loving husband.
