Catherine Ann Buchan- Haebich

Catherine Ann Buchan- Haebich, 84 of Westmont, passed away at home February 17, 2020.  Born October 27, 1935 in Johnstown.  Preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Anna (Unisko) Simunich, her first husband, Jack Buchan and brothers-in-law Eugene Buchan, John Santichen and Joseph Masoryak.

Survived by loving husband of 25 years, Roy Haebich, children, Jack Buchan (Tami), Tom Buchan, Christine (Larry) DeFrances, and Daniel Buchan.  Step Children, Beth Haebich and Sara (Gregory) Bland.  Grandchildren, Sara and Alison Buchan, Lindsay (Kevin) Dorian, James Buchan, Daniel and Jordan DeFrances, Brady Haebich, and great granddaughter June Catherine Dorian.  Sister of Frances Santichen, Mary Ann Masoryak, Thomas Simunich (Paulette), Anna Marie Mowery (Ray), Sister-in-law Mary Theresa Buchan and numerous nieces and nephews.

Catherine was a 1953 graduate of Johnstown High School. After the death of her husband, Jack, in 1987, she became President of Interstate Insurance Management, Inc.  She loved knitting, the opera, working on stained glass, playing her piano, cooking for her family, and singing with the Johnstown Symphony Chorale and Church Choir.  

She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  Catherine loved spending her summer days with her family at Camp Sunshine, building her Christmas village and hosting a holiday party for her family and friends.  She will be sadly missed but never forgotten.

Friends received 4-7 PM Thursday February 20, 2020, at the Frank Duca Funeral Home, Westmont Chapel, 1622 Menoher Blvd.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 AM Friday February 21, 2020, at Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church, Very Rev. Mark S. Begly. Interment Grandview Cemetery.
