David A. Noll, Formerly of Johnstown, PA, went to be with the Lord Jesus after a 10-year battle with cancer on April 29, 2024. Born July 5, 1946, the oldest son of Matthias J. Noll and Stella (Kaminsky) Noll both deceased as well as his loving wife Kathleen M. (Thomas) Noll of Windber, PA. Survived by daughters Christi (Warrenton, VA), Amy (Johnstown), and Olivia (Fairfax, VA) and his 5 loving grandchildren, Nicolas, Casey, & Luca (Warrenton, VA) and Natallo & Xavier (Johnstown, PA). Also survived by sisters Nancy (Little River, SC), Mary Kathryn, (Johnstown), Bridget (Wellsboro, PA) and brothers Dennis & Gary (Johnstown, PA) and Michael (Longs, SC).
David was a 1964 graduate of Johnstown High School, received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management from St. Francis University in 1993 and a Master’s Degree in Public Policy and Management in 1998 from the University of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, PA. He retired from Penelec as a District Manager in 1997 and went on to a second career with the federal government working at the National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, MD, U.S. Health and Human Services in Rockville, MD and the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Rural Development Agency, in Washington, DC where he retired in 2009.
He served in the United States Navy from 1965 to 1971 having served one County tour in Vietnam during the Tet Offensive in 1967-68. He achieved the rank of Petty Officer 2nd Class and was awarded an Honorable Discharge on December 5, 1971. Always a conservative politically he served as Vice-President and President, Tea Party Patriots, Bedford County PA in 2010 & 2011.
A proud Life and Endowment Member of the National Rifle Association he loved to enjoy shooting sports. Most recently he served in Flotilla 12-04, District 7 of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary in Myrtle Beach, SC.
Friends and family will be received at Frank Duca Funeral Home, Westmont Chapel, 1622 Menoher Blvd. on Thursday, May 16th from 6 to 8 PM.
Funeral Mass will be held at Our Mother of Sorrows on Friday, May 17th at 11 AM. Fr. Mark Begly. Entombment, Grandview Mausoleum immediately following with Military Ritual conducted by VFW Post 155.
