Delores E. Roth

Delores E. Roth, 95, passed away peacefully in Johnstown July 20, 2023, surrounded by her daughter, Linda and son-in-law, Daniel.  She was born on August 19, 1927 in Johnstown, daughter of George and Anna (Tomsko) Schein.

Preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 55 years, Francis Richard (2003); her brothers: Albert, Richard and Wilford Schein; and her sister, Elsie Miller. 

Survived by her son, Richard Roth of Somerset, and daughter, Linda married to Daniel Distefano of Bradenton, Florida.  She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. 

Delores was a 1945 graduate of Johnstown High School who proudly attended most of her class reunions. She retired after 33 years of service from Woolworth’s and then volunteered at Conemaugh Memorial Hospital’s Joint Ventures Department where, at age 85, was named Volunteer of the Year.  Delores loved being around people and exercised regularly at the YMCA.  She was a longtime member of Zion Lutheran Church. She also enjoyed traveling, and since 2019, she lived with her daughter, Linda, and son-in-law Daniel, at their home in Florida eight months each year.

Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, July 25, 2023 from 10:00-11:00 AM at Zion Lutheran Church, 613 Locust Street, Johnstown, PA.  A Funeral Service will immediately follow at 11:00 AM, Rev. Michael Van Dyke, officiating.  Entombment will be held at Grandview Mausoleum. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Zion Lutheran Church in memory of Delores E. Roth.
