Dolores Kadas Obituary

Dolores M. Kadas, 88, of Johnstown, died on April 11, 2023, at home. Born on December 21, 1934, in Johnstown, daughter of Emil and Margaret (Pahula) Rosko. Preceded in death by her parents, brothers Frederick (husband of Elizabeth Vranich), Thomas (husband of Mary Kovac), Eugene (husband of Julia Holbay), infant Carl, and sister Esther (wife of James Salem).

Survived by loving husband of 63 years Joseph; daughter Karen, wife of Christopher Cascino, of Johnstown; and Diane, wife of Brian Kutchma, of Cranberry Twp; Loving grandmother to Anthony, of Pittsburgh, Kristiana, and Lukas, both of Johnstown, Zackary, triplets Abigail, Aiden, and Gabrielle, all of Cranberry Twp.

Dolores was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, not only to her family but to the hundreds of students she taught. She earned her M. Ed Degree from the University of Pittsburgh and taught school in the Greater Johnstown School District for 39 years.  After retirement, she did private tutoring, homebound teaching, and substitute teaching in the area parochial schools. She taught CCD classes at OMOS church for several years and belonged to the OMOS Church choir for 30 years.

She spent her extra time reading, sewing, doing crafts, cooking, and baking.  Many of her crafts were made as gifts, and much of what she baked or cooked, she shared with family, neighbors, and friends. Along with her husband, she hosted a prayer group in their home. She always found time and energy to help others.

She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
