Dorothy K. Straitiff

Dorothy K. Straitiff, 97, formerly of Johnstown, died on July 22, 2021 in Pittsburgh. Born on November 19, 1923, daughter of Edward and Antoinette (Gross) Klinger, she was one of 13 siblings.

Preceded in death by her parents, husband William Straitiff Jr., daughters Claudia Straitiff and Lynne Beck, son-in-law Dennis E. Beck.

Survived by children Patricia wife of Larry Casale, Joan Straitiff, Susan wife of Craig Stuver, and Natalie and Kim McKee; grandchildren Candace Johnson, Michael Casale (Annie), Daniel Casale (Anna), Jonathan Stuver; great-grandchildren, Kifer Johnson, Juniper and Coral Casale, Samuel Lawrence Casale, nieces Carol and Beckie Harding.

Dorothy graduated from St. Joseph Catholic School. She was formerly employed at Dunn and Bradstreet, where she met her husband William and they wed on June 30, 1948. Shortly after, they moved to Johnstown and started a family. Raising her 6 girls was her life work and passion.

Dorothy was a master seamstress, as well as an avid reader and artist.

She was also active in the Johnstown Garden Club and Happy Cooker's Club in Westmont.

She was a charter member of St. Clement Church and a CCD instructor.

Dorothy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who will be sadly missed.

Friends will be received from 5:30-7 PM on Monday, July 26, 2021 at Frank Duca Funeral Home, Westmont Chapel, 1622 Menoher Blvd. Johnstown PA 15905.

Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday at St. Clement Church, Rev. William Rosenbaum. Interment, Grandview Cemetery.
