Dragich Banda

Dragich Banda, 93, of Vinco, passed away on March 25, 2023, at Cambria Care Center.  Born on May 21, 1929, in Cvijanovic Brdo, Karlovac, Yugoslavia. Son of Bora and Mara Banda. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Rade in 1945, infant son Rade in 1950, and son Borislav Banda in 2007. Survived by his wife of 75 years, Ranka (Banda) Banda, daughters Mary Banda, of Dayton OH, and Rita (Steve) Merriman, of Medina OH, daughter-in-law Loraine Vautar-Banda, of Johnstown PA, Grandchildren Eric (Carolina) Banda, of Florida, Nicholas (Jessica) Merriman, of Creston OH, Michael Merriman, of Creston OH,  Adam Banda, of Brooklyn NY, Luke Banda, of Los Angeles CA and Juli (Andrew Adams) Banda, of Raleigh NC, Great-grandchildren Joshua and David Banda, and, Steven, Owen and Lily Merriman. 

Dragich was a member of St. Petka and St. Nicholas Serbian Orthodox Church. 

He loved gardening with his wife Ranka in their large backyard garden and enjoyed the yearly harvests that would last them through each winter. He enjoyed playing the "Sorry" board game and watching Sunday Night Football and golf, but he especially enjoyed playing many rounds of chess with his Ranka each day. 

If ever he needed a special tool to complete a task or chore, he'd fashion a tool out of whatever he had on hand or his workbench, which best helped make the chore easy.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at 1:00 PM at St. Petka Cemetery, by the Rev. Presbyter Dragan Vukovic.
