Eileen (Kovach) Tukanowicz, 84, of Johnstown, Pennsylvania, passed away February 17, 2025. She was born September 04, 1940 in Johnstown.
Eileen is preceded in death by parents Charles H and Agnes (Malloy) Kovach, sister Regina J. (Kovach) Kinney, and Husband Dr. Stanislaw A. Tukanowicz.
She is survived by her beloved daughter, Monica (Peter) Hassett, sister Kathleen (Irvin) Claar, brother-in-law Michael Kinney, grandchildren Abby, Anthony, Katie, and Scott Hassett whom were her entire world—she acted as a second mother to them, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Eileen was a loving, bright, and beautiful daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a 1958 graduate of Nanty-Glo Vintondale High School. She loved to dance, as she was known as “Record-Hop Queen of the Week” and traveled the world with her beloved husband.
Friends will be received 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday at the Frank Duca Funeral Home, Westmont Chapel, 1622 Menoher Blvd.
Eileen was a longtime member of Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church, 415 Tioga Street, Johnstown, where her funeral mass will be held 10:00 AM Friday, Very Rev. Mark S Begly.
Private Interment Grandview Cemetery.
