Elsie Gallagher Cable, (98) of Westmont, passed away on May 21, 2026 while visiting family in Eden, N.C. She was born March 19, 1928 in Johnstown, the daughter of John and Emma Wallace.  She is preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, James Cable and Edward Gallagher; and her brother, John Wallace. 

Elsie is survived by her daughters, Debbie Rullman (Don) and MaryAnn Barbour (Tom); her stepdaughter, Jodi Cable (Jeff); her sister, Rose Ann Dugan (Pat); her grandsons, Logan Barbour (Manda) & Nicholas Barbour (Blair); her granddaughter, Sam Craine (Joel); her Godson, Tom Wallace (Linda); and her great-grandchildren: William, Jameson, Charlie Ann, Owen and Otto. Also survived by many nieces & nephews, and her close friends, Kathie Daley and Ken Josapak. 

A 1948 graduate of Johnstown High School, Elsie had many occupations throughout her lifetime, but she was most proud of her time as a home health Aide at Community Nursing where helping people at home providing nursing care was her reward. She leaves behind a lifetime of beautiful memories and will be deeply missed and forever loved.  Elsie "Muggy" was a kind and loving woman whose gentle spirit touched everyone fortunate enough to have known her.
     
A private family gathering is planned from 9:30 a.m. - 10:30 am on Wednesday, May 27, 2026 at the Frank Duca Funeral Home, Westmont Chapel, 1622 Menoher Blvd. 

Friends and family are invited to a funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at St. Clement Catholic Church, 114 Lindberg Ave. Johnstown, Fr. William Rosenbaum. Interment to immediately follow at Grandview Cemetery.

The family wishes to thank Fr. William Rosenbaum for his friendship, and the comfort and support at this difficult time.  They also would like to thank the Frank Duca Funeral Home and the Fair Funeral Home in Eden N.C. for their dedication, compassion and outstanding services provided.
