Ernest Kerekes

Ernest Kerekes, age 79, of Richland Twp., passed away suddenly at home on May 25, 2025. Born September 24, 1945, in Windber, PA., he is the son of the late Louis and Anna (Patrick) Kerekes.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Irene, Dorothy, Anna, Elsie, Louis and Nicholas. Survived by his loving and devoted wife of 42 years Theresa (Caputo), children Lauren Burns (Jonathan), Lancaster PA, Matthew Kerekes (Kaitlyn), Raleigh NC,  Robert Iacaruso (Susan), Crofton, MD, Michelle Spence (James), Morristown NJ, Chris Iacaruso (Anita), Washington DC, sister-in-law Rose Kerekes, Lakewood OH, grandchildren Charlotte and Lydia Burns, Lisa Tavares (Nicholas), Jennifer Carr (Derek), and Nicholas Iacaruso, Harrison Spence and Ashley Iacaruso, also several nieces and nephews.

Ernest was an avid Steelers Fan. He retired from the US Postal Service after 34 years. He was a classic car enthusiast. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
 

Ernest and Theresa belonged to St. Benedict Church for over 40 years.

Friends will be received 4-7 PM on Friday, May 30, 2025, at Frank Duca Funeral Home, East Hills Chapel and Crematory, 404 Walters Avenue 15904 (Near the PA Drivers Center). Friends and family will meet for a Funeral Mass at 12 PM Saturday at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Geistown, Fr. David Peles. Interment at St. Anthony Cemetery, Geistown.
