We are deeply sorry for your loss - the staff at Westmont Chapel
Evelyn V. Park, 78, of Westmont, went into the loving arms of Jesus surrounded by her adoring family on June 11, 2022, at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center.
She was born on August 16,1943 in Johnstown, daughter of Andrew and Virginia (Buterbaugh) O'Herrick. Preceded in death by her parents, infant daughter Rebecca Ann, and infant sister Rebecca Ann. Survived by her devoted and caring husband Harold "Butch" J. Park; loving daughter Jennifer, wife of Christopher DelSignore; two adoring grandsons, Anthony and Dominic DelSignore; brother, William O'Herrick; sister-in-law, Kathy Park. Also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins of the Park and Buterbaugh families, and her best lifelong friends.
Evelyn was a graduate of Johnstown High School. She worked at the Cambria County Clerk of Courts and was an Executive Secretary for the Johnstown Chamber of Commerce. Additionally, Evelyn was a volunteer at several local organizations including the Special Olympics, St. Clement parish, and Westmont Hilltop schools, and was also a founding member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. She was a Westmont Hilltop Varsity Cheerleading coach from 1999 - 2003.
Evelyn loved spending time with her family and dear friends, especially playing games when her competitive spirit would lead her to win most of time. She enjoyed completing the NY Times crossword puzzles “in ink,” porch time with her fur babies, vacationing at the beach, hosting and celebrating holiday dinners, and inspiring future generations to brighten their corners of the earth with acts of kindness to “Light the World.” Perhaps most importantly, Grammy adored her two beautiful grandsons. Evelyn was one of the smartest, kindest, and most compassionate people one could ever meet. We will all miss Evie’s hearty laughter but take comfort knowing that she continues to live in the presence of our lord, Jesus Christ.
A special thanks to Beth Croyle, as well as Lacey, Krista, Laura, and Nick of Interim Home Health for their impeccable and compassionate care.
She was a lifetime member and eucharistic minister at St. Clement Church where Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, June 15, 2022. Rev. William Rosenbaum.
Friends and family will be received from 2-7 PM on Tuesday at Frank Duca Funeral Home, Westmont Chapel, 1622 Menoher Blvd. Johnstown PA 15905. Interment, Grandview Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to St. Clement Church, 114 Lindberg Avenue, Johnstown PA 15905 in memory of Evelyn.
