Gail Cardellino, 81 of Richland, died unexpectedly August 19, 2021 in Johnstown ,PA.
Born March 1, 1940 in Youngstown, Ohio. Daughter of the late Vernon McDonald and Evelyn (Koch) Vendur.
Survived by her loving daughters, Terri Cardellino, Patty Cardellino married to Scott Beveridge, and Lori Cardellino, all of California, and Natalie Cardellino married to John Livella, of Davidsville; grandchildren, Jeremy Cardellino married to Jen (Potocki) Cardellino, Abigail Livella, Noah Livella, Jacobi Cardellino, and Great Grandson Logan Cardellino. And her sisters Patty (McDonald) Tomaselli married to Jack Tomaselli and Nanci (Kintz) Unger married to Greg Unger. Also survived by sister-in-law Judy married to Fred Raco, along with beloved nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Gail graduated from Johnstown High School in 1958. Known by many names (Mumma, Mummy, Mama, Nana, Nanny and Nana Gail), she was deeply cherished by her children, grand children and great grandson, as well as her nieces and nephews, their children and the many “adopted” nieces and nephews she showered with her love and affection through the years. Nothing filled her heart more than the hugs and kisses she lavished on those she loved. Affection and smiles were the constant gift she shared.
Gail’s greatest passion was to serve others through her talent for creating culinary delights. There was nothing that gave her more joy than to hear others react with “Mmmmm” when they tasted her cooking. Her apricot horn cookies were always a one-of-kind favorite treat that became a permanent part of her identity. Her generosity and penchant for sharing seemed endless. She was always there for anyone who needed her help, without ever expecting anything in return.
Gail was energetic, funny, independent, smart and carefree. She lived life on her own terms and had an indomitable spirit. No one will ever fill the void left behind by her passing, but her memory will live on in the hearts of those who have loved her throughout her life.
Friends received form 4-6 PM Monday August 23, 2021 at Frank Duca Funeral Home, East Hills Chapel and Crematory, 404 Walters Avenue, 15904 (located near the PA Drivers Center). A Celebration of Her Life will begin at 6 PM.
