George P. Haidar, 82, of Johnstown, died on March 27, 2024 at home. Born on July 30, 1941 in Fih, Lebanon, son of Philippe Nasser Haidar and Kafa (Saad).
Preceded in death by his parents, wife Donna (Mathieson) Haidar, and daughter Denise Haidar.
Survived by sons Philippe Haidar, married to Hind, of Johnstown; and Semaan Haidar, married to Maya, of Lebanon; and daughters Viviane wife of Joseph, of Lebanon; and Naila wife of Wally, of Australia; grandchildren Raghida, Dona, Georgie and his fiance Samantha; great grandchildren Saniya, Bailey, Asiem, Philippe, and Nadeem, and a host of grandchildren, and great grandchildren overseas.
George came to America in 1972, where he lived and worked in Boston, MA and then moved to Johnstown, PA where he began his career in construction.
He was the owner of Haidar Construction, Charlie Browns Restaurant, and Donut Connection.
He was a generous and kind person and loved his family.
He was a longtime member of St. Mary Antiochian Orthodox Church.
Friends received from 5-7 PM on Monday, April 1, 2024 at Frank Duca Funeral Home, Westmont Chapel, 1622 Menoher Blvd. Johnstown PA 15905. Trisagion Prayers will be sung at 530 PM.
Trisagion Prayers will be sung at 10:30 AM on Tuesday at the Funeral Home and followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00 AM at St. Mary Antiochian Orthodox Church. Very Rev. Fr. Donald Shadid.
Interment, Richland Cemetery.
