George E. Zdravecky

George E. Zdravecky, of Westmont, died on March 31, 2024 at Laurelview Village. Born on July 21, 1940 in Johnstown, son of William and Josephine (Jurishen) Zdravecky.

Preceded in death by his parents, brothers Stephen and Abe, and sisters Josephine, Helen, and Anka.

Survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Rhoda M. (Norman) Zdravecky, son George A. married to Rebecca (Noble), of San Diego, CA, daughter Leanne wife of Ryan Stacy, of Johnstown, grandchildren Liam, Xander, Eli married to Kayden, Phillip Englert, and Victoria Englert, and great granddaughter Takoda.

George was a graduate of Johnstown Catholic High School. He received his Bachelor’s Degree from California University of PA, and his Master’s in Education from Penn State University.

He retired from Intermediate Unit 8, and received the Teacher of the Year award.

George enjoyed fishing and was a Pitt Basketball fan.

He was a loving and devoted father, husband, grandfather, and great grandfather who will be sadly missed.

A Celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
