Guy W. Gennett, 79, of Johnstown, went to be with our Lord on Saturday, June 25, 2022, at
Conemaugh Memorial. Born on March 12, 1943, in Johnstown, he was the son of the late John and Catherine (Taormina) Gennett.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Kevin, and great-niece Jessica McKendree.
Survived by his loving wife, of 59 years Gale (Shaffer); son, Brian Gennett, granddaughters, Nichole and Jamie, a great-grandson, Grayson, brother, John Gennett Jr. (Tammy), sisters, Elaine Barringer, Linda Speicher, and Donna (Bob McKendree), his faithful companion Lincoln, and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great-nephews.
Guy was a graduate of Richland High School class of 1961. He worked as a metal fabricator for National Valve and JLG. He was a former member and usher of St. Thomas Catholic Church in Bedford, PA, and a current member of St. Benedict Church. He was an avid woodworker, Pittsburgh Steelers, basketball, and soccer fan. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and godfather. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Friends received from 5-7 PM on Friday, July 1, 2022, at Frank Duca Funeral Home, East Hills Chapel and Crematory, 404 Walters Avenue, Johnstown PA 15904. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday at 10:00 AM at St. Benedict Church. Fr. David Peles. Private interment, Richland Cemetery.
