Helen Louise Seidel, 92, of Westwood, died on December 31, 2022, at The Lutheran Home. Born on January 11, 1930, in Altoona, daughter of Charles and Helen (Banks) Ashburn.
Preceded in death by her parents, her husband Richard (1989), son David P. Seidel, and brother William Ashburn. Louise is survived by her 7 children, Richard M. (Sharon), Janet A. (Bill Roth), G. Michael (Mary), Gregory A. (Kathleen), Robert C. (Bonnie), Dennis E. (Jacki), William J. (Angela), 16 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, daughter-in-law Pamela Kanuch, and special cousin Jack Banks. She was the last surviving member of her family.
Louise was a longtime member of Our Mother of Sorrows Church. She was a graduate of Altoona High School and was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She made sure to attend all her children's and grandchildren's events, enjoyed playing Pinochle with her family and friends, and traveling with family on vacations, especially to Hilton Head.
Friends and family will be received from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Friday, January 6, 2023 at Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church, where Funeral Mass will begin at 11: 00 AM. Very Rev. Mark Begly.

Private interment will be held at a later date at Calvery Cemetery, Altoona.
