Harold P. Shannon

Harold P. Shannon, 87, passed away on April 16, 2022, at Cambridge Ebensburg. Born on March 10, 1935, in Jenkins Township PA, he was the son of the late Harold and Susan (Smiles) Shannon.

Survived by his wife Rita (Beyer), and his children David, of Johnstown; Paula, of Maine; and Michael, of Massachusetts. He was proud of his children and happy to be part of a larger family unit of in-laws, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Harold was a graduate of West Pittston High School and Wilkes College, and later worked for the Federal Government.

Harold was a member of Memorial Baptist Church, where he had served as an usher, treasurer, and a member of the board of trustees.

He enjoyed watching Jeopardy and mysteries on television, solving crossword puzzles, including those of the New York Times, reading mystery novels, and listening to Classical music.

No viewing will be held, and a memorial service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Memorial Baptist Church, 210 Vine Street, Johnstown PA 15901; to the Laurel Highlands Alzheimer's Foundation, 317 Power Street, Johnstown PA 15906; or to a charity of one's choice in his memory.
