Obituary

Helen M. Raneri, 89, of Mineral Point, died on April 11, 2020 at her daughters home. Born September 5, 1930 in Johnstown, daughter of Wojciech and Agnes (Slonka) Baran.

Preceded in death by her parents, husband Salvatore Sr., son Salvatore Jr., daughter Helen Jean Meals, two brothers, and five sisters.

Survived by her children Mary (Thomas Prindle), with whom she resided; Patricia (Patrick Doyle); Toni Andreoli; AJ Raneri (Diane); and Lisa (Dan Kasper); 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Also many nieces and nephews. Helen was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Helen was a loving mother and grandmother; strong and independent.  She loved polkas and she loved to dance.  She was the Queen!  She loved anything purple; flowers and the Steelers - especially Hines Ward.  You didn't dare call her when they played!  Helen retired from the Altoona Center. She was a longtime member of St. Clement Catholic Church.

Special thanks to Penn Hospice for their help and caring, especially her nurse, Nikki, and all the aides; Pastor Steve Moore for his prayers and support;  Nurse Sunny Settle, who graciously helped with all the final arrangements; and Fr. Draper from St. John Vianney Catholic Church, Vinco.

Due to current restrictions, viewing and burial will be private. A live stream webcast on our Facebook page will be held at the graveside on Tuesday, April 14th at 12:00 Noon (click the link below). A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at a future date.
