Ida Jean "DOLLY" Fallon

Ida Jean "DOLLY" Fallon, 88, of Richland Township, passed into the hands of the Lord on May 1, 2020 at Conemaugh Medical Center.

Born June 13, 1931 in the Prospect section of Johnstown, daughter of the late Angelo and Victoria (Galardie/Gualardo) Giannone.

Preceded in death by her loving sister Margie, her loving brother Joseph Giannone and beloved sister-in-law Barbara (Woolcock). Also preceded by loving son-in-law Ron Mihalacki. 

Survived by loving daughter, Mary Karen Mihalacki and loving granddaughter, Emily Victoria Mihalacki, both from Johnstown, son, Mark Kevin Vargo and grandson, Jonathan Vargo, both in Garner, North Carolina and loving furbaby Willow.

Ida was a 1949 graduate of Greater Johnstown High School.  She was employed by the Westmont Hilltop School Administration for over 25 years.  She volunteered at Good Sam Hospital and St. Vincent DePaul Soup Kitchen for over 9 years.  She was a special mom, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, wife, and friend who will be sadly missed, especially by her close girlfriends Helen Ramach, Edith McMullen, Ivy Waters, and Joanne Boyle.

Mom loved adventure and loved to travel. One of her favorite trips was visiting Sicily to see where her daddy came from. Dolly was a meticulous woman who placed high pride in her appearance. She always went out "Dolled Up". Dolly loved to dance and cut up the "rug". In later years, Parkinson's Disease stole that favorite activity from her.

Ida was a devout Catholic who prayed the Rosary daily. Her family can now take comfort in knowing that we have an angel watching over us.

A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Thomas Ellenberger, and his staff Chris and Amanda, Tracy, John, and Brenda at Conemaugh Regional Hospice, and Brian Sauro and Marguerite at Palliative Care, who were with mom from beginning until the end. Also, a special thank you to her loving caregiver Jessica Costlow.

All Funeral Services will be privately held at Our Mother of Sorrows, Very Rev. Mark Begly. Private Interment, St. Anthony Cemetery.
