Janet R. (Jobe) Hornick, 86, Geistown, passed away March 17, 2019. Born May 4th, 1932 in Johnstown; daughter of the late Mildred Dorsch.
Preceded in death by beloved husband of 60 years Ronald, son Barry, son-in-law Timothy Schultz, her in-laws; Robert (Frances) Hornick, Mary Frances (Raymond) Stevons, Louise (Fred) Hoffman, and Elizabeth Hornick. Survived by her loving children; Lynda Rizzo and husband Tony, Brian Hornick and wife Pam, and Alyson Schultz, all of Johnstown. Janet is also survived by her 12 beloved grandchildren; Brent Hornick, Ronald Hornick, Parker Hornick, Anthony (Katie) Rizzo, Marlena (Chris) Zamias, Frank Rizzo, Joseph (Alyse) Rizzo, John Rizzo, Mario Rizzo, Christina Rizzo, Timothy Schultz, and Samantha Schultz, and survived by 6 great-grandchildren; Olivia Hornick, Jacob Hornick, Josh Hornick, Ella Rizzo, Izabella Zamias, and Thea Rizzo.
Janet was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church, a devoted member of the Johnstown Quota Club and Compassionate Friends. She was an exemplary homemaker who loved to cook great meals such as “Chicken and Waffles” for her family. She spent her retirement years enjoying sunny Sebring, Florida. She loved to spend time with her grandchildren, including countless sleepovers and cooking breakfasts, but unfortunately was not able to spend her final years enjoying their love or even meet her youngest great-grandchildren due to decisions made outside of her control.
Friends received from 11 AM until time of Remembrance Service at 1 PM on Monday, March 25, 2019 at the Frank Duca Funeral Home, East Hills Chapel & Crematory, 404 Walters Ave. Johnstown PA 15904 (Near PA Drivers Center and Armory in Geistown).
