Jeannine M. Goncher

Jeannine M. Goncher, 70, of Richland, passed away peacefully on June 1, 2024, at Horizons Personal Care at the Villa Crest following an extended illness.  She was born April 23, 1954 in Johnstown, daughter of Alfred and Josephine (Oshaben) Danel. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 47 years, Danny Goncher, her parents, sister Linda Jo Berkey, in-laws Francis and Rosemary (McLaughlin) Goncher, brother-in-laws Carl Berkey and Mike Goncher, and nephews Michael Goncher and Zachary Smith.

She is survived by her sons Daniel Goncher Jr., married to Kelly (Kohler), and Ian, married to Ashley (Meyers), granddaughters Avery, Allyson, Olivia, and Lucy, sisters Lisa Danel-Smith, married to Stuart Smith, Laura Faye Hood, married to Gary Hood, brother-in-law Tom Goncher, married to Mary Jane (Medvesky), sister-in-law Jackie Goncher, Mike Grattan, who was like a son to her, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Jeannine was a 1972 graduate of Forest Hills High school.  She was formerly employed at the UMWA Health & Retirement Funds, in addition to spending the past 20 years in Human Resources at 1st Summit Bank.  She loved her family more than anything, particularly her 4 granddaughters, and made a positive and lasting impact on everyone she ever met.  She also loved to spend time with her sisters at the Adobe, their family property along Bob's creek in Bedford.  She was a long-time volunteer and patron of NCST, a charity for providing clothing for area children in need.

At her request, all funeral arrangements will be private and entrusted to Frank Duca Funeral Home, East Hills Chapel and Crematory, 404 Walters Avenue, Johnstown PA 15904.  Interment St. Michael Cemetery.
