John R, Barberio Sr., 94, Johnstown Pa. passed away at Forest Hills Personal Care Home in Sidman on November 27, 2024.
Born in Johnstown April 6, 1930 to Giacomo and Anna (Corsaro) Barberio. Last remaining member of his immediate family. He was preceded in death by parents, siblings Ralph, Mary, Joseph, Frank, and beloved granddaughter Jaclyn Locktosh. Survived by his wife of 71 years Evelyn (Stanton) and children Mary (Bryan) Smith, Diane (James) Locktosh and John (Beverly Blough), adopted granddaughter Amanda and several nieces and nephews.
Retired welder from Bethlehem Steel, he had a strong work ethic and was a good provider for his family. U.S. army veteran of the Korean Conflict. John was an avid outdoorsman. Although he fished, hunting was his first love and he made numerous trips out west to hunt and brought home many trophies, but he was most proud of the Grizzly bear that he got in Alaska. John had a wealth of friends and always had a story to tell.

Friends received Tuesday, December 3rd from 2-4 pm at Frank Duca Funeral Home, Westmont Chapel, 1622 Menoher Blvd.
Funeral Mass on Wednesday December 4th at 10 am St Clare of Assisi Church, Woodvale. Rev. George Gulash. Interment St. Anthony Cemetery, Geistown.
