John E. Bortoli, 87 of Johnstown PA died July 26, 2026 at Memorial Medical Center. Born March 15, 1939 in Chicago Ill. Son of Frank and Irene (Kopac) Bortoli.
Preceded in death by his parents, sons John A., Joseph M., and Robert J., brother Frank A., grandson Anthony M., brother-in-law Anthony R. Shorto, and sister-in-law Marilynn Shorto.
Survived by his loving and devoted wife of 51 years Anna Marie (Shorto) "Sis", son Brett M. (Patricia), granddaughter Abby (Brad Marker), sister-in-laws Karen Bortoli and Rita Shorto, brother-in-law Joseph Shorto, also many loving nieces and nephews.
John Bortoli will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, cherished uncle, brother-in-law, and loyal friend whose kindness, strength, and generosity touched everyone who knew him.
A hardworking entrepreneur and respected business owner, John, with his wife by his side, proudly led Borco Manufacturing, Borco Equipment, and Borco Leasing Company, exporting trailers throughout the world. He built his businesses with integrity, determination, and an unwavering commitment to excellence.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, John’s greatest legacy was the people he inspired. His son’s friends and many of his employees often looked to him as a father figure, grateful for his guidance, encouragement, and genuine care. He loved fishing with his four sons and going to Myrtle Beach with his family.
John’s love for his family, his dedication to his work, and the countless lives he touched will never be forgotten. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
Friends received on Thursday, July 30, 2026 from 5-7 pm, Frank Duca Funeral Home Westmont Chapel, 1622 Menoher Blvd. Johnstown, Pennsylvania.
Funeral mass will be held on Friday, July 31, 2026 at 11 am at Our Mother of Sorrows Church, Fr. Mark Begly, 415 Tioga St., Johnstown, Pa 15905.
