John M. Gerak Sr.

John M. Gerak Sr., 76, of Brownstown, died on July 11, 2023 at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center. Born on February 18, 1947 in Johnstown, son of John and Genevieve (Shesko) Gerak.

Preceded in death by his parents, and infant sister Debra.

Survived by his loving wife Yolanda "Cookie" (Yarnavick), daughter Lisa, wife of Mark Thomas, and son John M. Gerak Jr., married to Karen (Palm), grandchildren Seth Thomas, Madison "Madi" Gerak, and Landie Gerak.

John was a graduate of Johnstown High School and worked as a welder at Bethlehem Steel. He loved cars, hunting, fishing, traveling with his wife, swimming with his grandchildren, and love to play guitar. He loved his family especially his grandchildren.

John was a member of St. Mary Byzantine.

All services will be private.
