John Henry Josephson Sr.

John Henry Josephson Sr., 68, of South Fork, died on August 22, 2021 at Windber Hospice. Born on November 7, 1952 in Johnstown, son of Theodore and Dorothy (Ramsell) Josephson.

Preceded in death by his parents.

Survived by his wife of 51 years Christine C. (Layton); son John H. Josephson Jr., daughter Kristy M. Whistler (partner Terry Hillegas); grandchildren Gabrielle Josephson, Joshua Shaffer, Nicholas Josephson, Daniel Whistler Jr., and Shannon Hillegas; great grandchildren, Jocelyn, Veda, and Sky; sisters Shirley Bobak (Paul), Deborah Wadsworth, and Dolly Krempasky (Steve).

John was a 101st Airbourne Army Veteran who served in Korea during the Vietnam Era.  He worked as a mechanic and heavy equipment operator. He enjoyed spending time with his family, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. John enjoyed working in the yard, washing his car, and hunting.

A Celebration of His Life will be held on Monday, August 30, 2021 from 5-7 PM at Frank Duca Funeral Home, East Hills Chapel and Crematory, 404 Walters Ave. Johnstown PA 15904. (Near PA Drivers Center and Armory).
