John Kucenski

John Kucenski, 76, of Johnstown, died on May 12, 2019 at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center. Born October 5, 1942 in Johnstown.

Preceded in death by his parents, brothers Ed, Pete, Nick, and Bill. Sisters Alice Price and Martha McKissik, and In-laws Sam and Frances Novello.

Survived by loving wife of 52 years Mary Ann (Novello) Kucenski, sister Betty Eisenhuth wife of John, brother Walter Marchu, nephew Walter Marchu Jr. married to Cathy, aunt and uncle Ann and George Salata, special cousins Bob and Rosanne Cotchen, John and Mary Stright, Vince and Delynn Corica, god-children Anthony Cotchen and Maria Korns, wonderful longtime friends John and Donna Jean Straczek and Bob and Joanna Watkins. Also many golfing friends at Windber Country Club.

John was a 1961 graduate of Johnstown High School where he played football and baseball.

He played in the City Junior League AAABA Tournament for the I.S.D.A. He joined the Johnstown Police Department in 1967 where he went from Patrolman, Motorcycle Police, Detective Bureau, and served as Chief of Police from 1982-1985. After Retirement, he worked at Rolling Rock Country Club as an Assistant Golf Pro. He retired from the Country Club in 1997 and enjoyed golfing with his many great friends at Windber Country Club.

John was a member of the I.S.D.A, NRA, Johnstown Elks Lodge B.P.O.E 175, Sons of Italy, 28th Military Police, PA Chief of Police, F.O.P Lodge 86, Knights of Columbus 4th Degree, Knights of Columbus #9136 St. Clare of Assisi Church Council, American Legion, and Windber Country Club.

He was a member of St. Clare of Assisi Parish, formerly St. Anthony, on Maple Ave, where Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, May 16th, 2019 at 10:00 AM. Fr. Matthew Misurda.

Friends received from 5-8 PM on Wednesday, May 15th, 2019 at the Frank Duca Funeral Home, East Hills Chapel & Crematory, 404 Walters Ave. Johnstown PA 15904. (Near PA Drivers Center and Armory). Entombment, Grandview Mausoleum.
