Joseph F. Scaletta, 81, of Johnstown, died February 8th, 2020 joining the Lord and his loving wife surrounded by his family at home. Born August 21,1938 in Johnstown. Son of Frank and Patricka (Gallagher) Scaletta.
Preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marviene in 2013; and brother, Tom.
Survived by sons; Joseph and partner Marcus, and Michael married to Denise (Waltz); grandchildren, Joshua and Hannah; sister, Mary Elizabeth married to Nick Wuckovich; and nieces and nephews.
He was a 1957 graduate of Greater Johnstown High School, then attended trade school in Williamsport and received an Associates Degree. He retired from the Johnstown Fire Department, and a member of the PA State Firemen's Association. A loyal and faithful fan of the Johnstown Tomahawks, Chiefs, and Jets; Johnstown Trojan Football; and AAABA. Joe enjoyed camping and reading, spending time with family, and famous for his "one liners" jokes. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He was a Past Grand Knight and Faithful Navigator, along with being Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus.
Friends received from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM Tuesday at the Frank Duca Funeral Home, Westmont Chapel, 1622 Menoher Blvd. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:00 AM Wednesday at St. John Gaulbert Cathedral, Very Rev. James F. Crookston. Interment Grandview Cemetery. The Knights of Columbus All Saints Assembly will stand guard, Council 467 will recite the rosary at 7 PM.
