Josephine Polak, 94, of Brownstown, died December 20, 2020 at the Villa Personal Care Home. Born October 17, 1926 in Johnstown, she was the daughter of John and Justina (Hudina) Andryco.
Preceded in death by her parents, husband of 56 years John E. Polak, siblings Anne Gaydos, John Andryco, Mary Resch, Helen Resch, and Andrew Andryco.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She is survived by her loving children; Janet Cranston (Douglas), of Flower Mound TX, Patricia Lang (Christopher), of York, PA, Gloria Maier (Donald), The Villages, FL, and Karen Smith (Timothy), of Johnstown; grandchildren Ian Cranston (Yaru Liu), Evan Cranston, Christopher Lang II, Allison Lang Kimball (Keith), Natalie Smith, Timothy Smith; great grandchildren, Nora and Noah Kimball; brother-in-law Robert Polak (Dolores); sisters-in-law Veronica Tedrow, Marlene Polak, Shirley Andryco, and Sue Maydahl. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Josephine was a lifelong member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Brownstown, where a private funeral mass will be held for the family, Very Rev. Mark S. Begly. She has touched so many lives with her love, patience, compassion, and her quick wit.
