Josephine (Anastasi) Stumpo, 88, of Richland, went to be with the Lord on December 5, 2022. Born December 26, 1933 in Johnstown, daughter of Gaetano and Theresa (Carino) Anastasi. Preceded in death by parents, husband Domenick ‘Mickey’ Stumpo in June 2017, sister Angeline, step-granddaughter Julia Lockwood, in-laws Frank and Edith (Altimore) Stumpo, Sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law - Philomena ‘Fannie’ (Stumpo) and Joseph Chirillo, Samuel Joseph and Pauline (Gironda) Stumpo, Mary (Stumpo) Angello Delusa, John Angello and Eugene Delusa, Dante ‘Doc’ Stumpo, Anthony ‘Buck’ and Marie (Cantela) Stumpo, Louise (Stumpo) Mattis, and Loretta Stumpo.
Survived by children Gregory and wife Jacqueline (Brant) of Timberlake, NC; Deborah and husband Thomas Lockwood of Durham, NC; Michael and wife Marsha (Engle) of Warrenton, VA; Matthew of Johnstown. Grandchildren Dylan Stumpo and wife Abigail McKenzie and Jayvon; Joseph Stumpo; Captain Domenick Stumpo USAF and wife Jackie (Babos); James Stumpo; step-grandchildren Nathan Lockwood and wife Pam (Locklear); and William Lockwood. Sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Ruth (Pingatore) Stumpo, Frank, Jr. and Jeanie (Manganello) Stumpo, Ed Mattis, James and Gail (Cordaro) Stumpo, numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces and great-great nephews, and Cousin Caroline (Carino) Fetzko and family. Josephine was a 1951 graduate of Johnstown Catholic High School (Bishop McCort) and a devoted wife, mother, Nana, and will be deeply missed.
Friends will be received from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, December 11, 2022 at Frank Duca Funeral Home, East Hills Funeral Chapel & Crematory, 404 Walters Avenue, Johnstown, PA, 15904 (Near PA Drivers Center and Armory).
Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 12, 2022 at St. Clare of Assisi Catholic Church, formerly St. Anthony Church, Woodvale. Father George Gulash. Interment, St. Anthony Cemetery, Geistown.
