Josephine (DiBiase) Workopsky of Sunshine Avenue, Johnstown, PA. Born July 28, 1925 in Windber, passed May 5, 2026. Wife of Joseph Workosky Sr. for 43 years until his death in 1990.
Preceded in death by parents, Joseph and Giovina DiBiase and sisters; Mary Damico, Ann Giallonardo, Edyth Saraullo, Mafalda Ferrara, and grandson-in-law, Aaron Korenoski. Survived by sons, Joseph Workosky, wife, Mary Ann Fesko, Anthony Workosky, wife Joyce Novosel, and sister-in-law, Dolores Workosky. Grandchildren, Julie Korenoski, Johnstown. Jenny, wife of Mike Blucas, Johnstown. Acey, (wife) Jackie Hazel, Minneola, NY. Jessie, (husband) Paul Riddle, Augusta, GA. Great grandchildren, Ruby, Vayda, Edye, Logan, Joey, Luke, Dylan and Matthew, also a large number of nieces and nephews.
Josie was a 1943 graduate of Windber Area High School, grew up on 22nd St. and was proud of her hometown’s coal miner heritage, living there till 1970. Josie was employed by A&P Markets on Graham Avenue and Goucher Street for 30 years. She was an active member of the Italian Son’s and Daughter’s of America (ISDA) and Caring Friends of Johnstown.
Josie and Joe were avid travelers and drove cross-country in their 1965 Mustang. They toured Europe, visited her parent’s hometown in Italy, plus Rome, the Vatican, the Hawaiian Islands, and South America to see Machu Picchu and view the Nazca Lines. They sailed to London, England on the Q.E. II and returned from Paris, France on the Concord.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was always in fashion with her clothes, shoes and matching hats. Josie enjoyed driving her cars and often took her grand kids for ice cream in her 1975 Corvette.

Funeral Mass 11:00 am, Friday, May 8 at St. Clement Church, Fr. William Rosenbaum.
Entombment at Grandview Cemetery.
Funeral services are entrusted with Frank Duca Funeral Home.
