Julia P. Messner

Julia P. Messner, 98, of Southmont, passed away peacefully August 23, 2022, in Johnstown, PA., born September 23, 1923, in Portage, PA. She was the daughter of Michael and Anastasia (Marko) Pirich. Preceded in death by her parents, husband Leonard F. in 1991, and siblings.

Survived by son Leonard V. OD,  FAAO, married to Stephanie (Saylor) Messner, OD, FAAO,  granddaughter Jordan married to Michael Vaccarino of New York.

Julia was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother, who will be sadly missed but never forgotten. She was a very faithful member of Christ the Saviour Cathedral where she enjoyed playing the piano for her friends.

She was the last of 6 siblings.

Friends will be received from 11 AM to 1 PM Thursday, August 25, 2022, at Christ the Saviour Cathedral where Funeral Service will begin at 1 PM, with the Very Rev. Protopresbyter Fr. Robert Buczak. Interment at St. Michael Orthodox Cemetery, Portage PA.
