June Fudala Obituary

June Evelyn Fudala, 90, formerly of Uniontown, passed away on May 24, 2024, to join her Husband Ron Fudala, Son Eric, Parents Jim and Goldie Carder, and Siblings Ronnie, Joan, and Jack in Heaven. Born on February 24, 1934 in Salem, West Virginia.

Although June’s physical presence has departed, the essence of her spirit and vitality will endure in the memories of the many lives she touched throughout her life.

June was known for many things.

First, and foremost, as a loving wife and mother who could always be counted on to be there whenever needed, or for whatever event her husband or children were involved in.  And she was counted on a lot.  But, as her many friends will attest, June was much more than this.

She was an avid athlete, dating back to her time in High School, where in pick-up games, she would often be chosen before the “boys” of her day.  June was also an accomplished softball player, in fact, the oldest in the league at the time.  She was the primary pitcher for her team and the league’s leading hitter.  However, her greatest joy in softball was being able to compete, as a teammate, with her daughter, Tyrene.

Although June loved softball, her greatest athletic passion was tennis. June participated in many tournaments, not uncommonly winning her division.  In many of those events, she partnered with Tyrene, her daughter, becoming as much, if not more, a friend, as she was a mother.

Beyond her love of competition, especially when winning, June always sought to bring others into the game she was so passionate about.  She introduced tennis to and provided hand-me-down racquets for, each of her 10 grandchildren, one of whom, largely to June’s influence, went on to play tennis in college.

Beyond athletics, June, everlastingly, will be remembered as an organizer.  She loved dinner parties where her presence always brought an element of surprise and festivity. Combining June’s love for tennis, organization, and dinner parties, she was responsible for crafting and managing one of the most successful tournaments her region ever held.

June is survived by her son Ron and his wife Cindy, daughter Tyrene, wife of Dennis McKolosky, and her 10 grandchildren Benjamin, Justin, Joshua, Eric, Nick (Emily), David (Tara), Ronnie, Nate, Brittini (Nate Adam), and Sam, and 7 great-grandchildren.
