Kathryn (Homa) Buck, 95, of Southmont, peacefully passed away with her loving children by her side on June 18, 2024. Born February 18, 1929, in Portage, daughter of John and Anna Homa. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Robert I. Buck; sisters, Mary Homa, Helen Kalicky and Susan Johnson; and brothers, John, Michael, Peter, Joseph, Andrew, Alex, Nicholas, George and Stephen Homa.
Survived by children, Susan (Lawrence Gresh), Robert Buck (Fiancé Dana Plummer), Melissa (widow of Richard Garman); dearly adored grandchildren, Jessica Bracelin, Christopher Garman, Jacob Buck, and Noah Gresh; and her great-grandchildren Sophia, Oliver, and newly welcomed in 2024, Rip and Vivian. Also survived by numerous nephews and nieces, who always enjoyed “Aunt Kay’s” gobs.
Kathryn was a graduate of the Mercy School of Nursing and St. Elizabeth Health Center School for Nurse Anesthetists in Youngstown, Ohio. Her unbridled dedication to Lee Hospital and the American Red Cross spanned a 40-year career. Kathryn and Bob created a lifetime legacy for their children of character, faith, and family.
Family and friends will be received Saturday, June 22, 2024, from 9:30 AM until time of Funeral Service at 11:00 AM at Frank Duca Funeral Home, Westmont Chapel. 1622 Menoher Blvd. Johnstown PA 15905. Msgr. Raymond Balta. Entombment, Grandview Mausoleum.
Heartfelt thanks to the caring staff at the Conemaugh Crichton Rehabilitation Center and Conemaugh Hospital's ICU and Palliative Care Teams. We will always carry your memory in our hearts.
