Kena Claire (Fasola) Vizzini, 83, of Davidsville, died peacefully surrounded by family on August 19, 2024. Born on June 25, 1941 in Johnstown, she was the daughter of Robert and Dorothy (Spangler) Fasola. Preceded in death by her parents.
Survived by her loving husband of 63 years James M. Vizzini and loving children James M. Vizzini married to Amy (Collins), Matthew R. Vizzini married to Jayne (Komar), and Maria R. wife of John Schulte; grandchildren James (Sarah), Danielle, and Cara (Rik) Vizzini, Michael (Casey) Vizzini, Jessica (Brandon) and Jacob Schulte; great grandchildren Vito John and Ivan James Vizzini, and Andrew James Vizzini.
Kena grew up in Hollsopple and was a graduate of Conemaugh Township High School where she was in the band and chorus. Before starting her family, she worked at Penelec and the Social Security Administration and later went back to work at the Department of Human Services as a legal secretary. For many years, she enjoyed making quilts, singing in the choirs at St. Andrew’s and St. Benedict’s, and volunteering at the Conemaugh Township Historical Society as she had a voracious interest in genealogy and history. She was an excellent cook who passed many of her famous recipes on for her family to enjoy for years to come. She will be sadly missed. The family would like to thank the staff of Laurel View Village for their tender loving care of Kena. There are too many names to mention.
Friends received from 3-7 PM on Thursday August 22, 2024 at Frank Duca Funeral Home, East Hills Chapel and Crematory, 404 Walters Ave. Johnstown PA 15904. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday at St. Benedict Catholic Church. Fr. David Peles. Interment, St. Anthony Cemetery, Geistown.
