Leo W. Concannon, 91, of Johnstown, died on September 26, 2020 at The Villa. Born April 13, 1929 in Johnstown, son of John W. and Mary (Markferding) Concannon.
Preceded in death by his parents and wife Rita (Scornaienchi) Concannon, Brother John Concannon and wife Rose, Son in law Brian Kendera.
Survived by daughter, LeAnne Kendera Portser wife of Jack Portser Jr, Johnstown and son, David Concannon and wife Heather, Ohio; Grandchildren Bethany Vaught wife of Phil Vaught, Johnstown and Brandon Kendera (Mallory Thatch), Indianapolis, IN, Emma Cockrell, Ohio.
Leo was a graduate of Johnstown Catholic High School in 1947. He served in the Korean War and worked at Bethlehem Steel. He was a member of BPOE #175, life member, The American Legion, Catholic War Veterans, The Disabled American Veterans and was an active member of his High School Reunion Committee. Leo loved to watch Notre Dame sports, Pittsburgh Penguins and Steelers.
He was a member of St. John Gualbert Cathedral where Funeral Mass will be held at 1:30 PM on Friday, October 2, 2020. Fr. James F. Crookston.
Friends will be received from 4-7 PM on Thursday, October 1, 2020 at the Frank Duca Funeral Home, East Hills Chapel and Crematory, 404 Walters Avenue, Johnstown PA 15904. (Near PA Drivers Center). Elks ceremony will be held Thursday evening at 6:30 pm. Interment, St. Anthony Cemetery.
Leo looked forward to weekly lunches with cousin and friend Ron Geiser and frequent calls from nephew Jim Ozold. The family wishes to thank all the Staff at the Villa for their care and compassion for dad.
