Leroy Eugene Black, 87, of Johnstown passed away at home on November 16, 2023. He was born in Tyrone on March 27, 1936, son of the late George and Emma (Hartsock) Black.
Preceded in death by his sisters, Vivian Webb, Marie Paul, and Doris Karl; and his brothers, Glenn, Don, and Larry Black. Survived by his wife of 35 years, Donna (McDonald); his son, Dan; his step-sons, Mark, Scott, Matt, and Steve; his step-daughter, Candy, who has helped throughout his illness; special grandson, Blaise; his siblings, Suzanne Poborsky, Clair Black, Dennis Black, Sannie Gamble, and Sarah Black; 9 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.
Leroy proudly served in the Army during the Korean War. He was in the tank division stationed in Germany. He retired after 32 years as the maintenance supervisor at the Johnstown Cambria County Airport. Leroy and Donna were well-rounded travelers, drove across the country a few times and enjoyed visiting casinos. His favorite pastime was fishing with his brothers and grandson.
At the request of Leroy all arrangements will be private for the family. Arrangement entrusted with Frank Duca Funeral Home, East Hills Chapel & Crematory.
