Linda J. “Lynn” (Smith) Lovette, of Westmont, quietly passed into eternal life, Sunday, October 23, 2022. Lynn was born April 28, 1949, in Ligonier, the daughter of the late John A. and Betty S. (Hines) Smith. Preceded in death by her youngest daughter, Kara Lynn Lovette, and brother, Jeffrey Smith, formerly of Ligonier, as well as father-in-law, Dr. John B. Lovette MD and mother-in-law, Catherine E. Lovette, and niece, Melissa Lynn.
Lynn will be sadly missed by her adoring husband of 57 years, Atty. Daniel R. Lovette, and her daughter, Leigh Anne (Lovette) wife of Tod Kopco, and grandchildren, Alexandria (“Allie” Kopco), wife of Jeff Yunetz, of Latrobe, Victoria (“Torie” Kopco) wife of Sean Wozniak, of Pittsburgh, and Andrew Daniel Kopco, married to Caroline DeLuca, of Pittsburgh.
Also survived by sister, Barbara (Smith), wife of George Lentz, of Ligonier, and brothers and sisters-in-law, Dr. John B. “Barney” Lovette II, DDS, and wife Mary Lu; Dr. Michael P. Lovette DDS, and wife Catherine; and David Lovette RPh, and wife, Sharon (Frick). Also survived by beloved nieces and nephews; Amy (Mark), Krista, Kate (Michael), John (Casey), Madeleine (Andy), Matthew, Patrick (Kali), Timothy, Dr. Daniel T. (Alanna), Caroline (Adam), and grand nieces and nephews.
Lynn spent her life as a homemaker, encouraging the endeavors of her husband, children, grandchildren, and godchildren. She was known in the community as a selfless, loving, and compassionate person. In her early years she was an avid skier and tennis player. She was an active member of Sunnehanna Country Club, where she served on the house committee, enjoyed socializing with her many friends, played bridge, and belonged to the Sunnehanna Women’s Golf Association. She was especially proud of her Hole in One. All family and friends can attest to Lynn’s terrific gourmet cooking. She always had fond memories of family time spent at Hilton Head. Lynn was a lively, cheerful spirit with a soft voice, a wide smile, and a witty but gentle sense of humor. She emphasized the importance of family. She was a beautiful person, inside and out, and experienced both love and sorrow in her life. In the end, the love is all that matters. May God bless and keep you, dear Lynn!
Family and friends will gather from 4 to 8 PM on Friday, October 28, 2022, at Frank Duca Funeral Home, Westmont Chapel, 1622 Menoher Blvd., Johnstown, 15905. Family and friends will meet at Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church, 415 Tioga St. for a Funeral Mass at 11 AM on Saturday, the Very Rev. Mark S. Begly, Celebrant. Private interment at Grandview Cemetery.
