Marjorie Helen (Audi) Hamaty, 94, of Westmont, died peacefully in her sleep on July 6, 2023 at her son Edward’s home in Sicklerville, New Jersey. Born on January 25, 1929 in Wilkes Barre, PA, daughter of George and Mary (Zaro) Audi.
Preceded in death by her parents and beloved husband, Edward, and brothers Jack and George Audi.
Survived by her beloved children Dr. Edward Hamaty (Patrick), George Hamaty (Andrea), Dr. John Hamaty and Gail Matthews, Esq. and her beloved grandchildren Sarah Hamaty, David Hamaty, David Matthews, Jacquelyn Matthews, Kara Holtzman and many godchildren and brother Edward Audi.
Marjorie dedicated her life to her family. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, godmother, and sister. She was a lifelong member of St. Mary Antiochian Orthodox Church, serving God for decades at St Mary’s Orthodox Church in Johnstown where she hosted many events, meals, and coffee hours. Hours were spent creating floral arrangements for the entire church all year long and decorating the classrooms and meeting halls. Marjorie was a woman of many talents and loved to entertain, to decorate, and to make certain everyone felt happy and welcome. She loved nothing better than to spend time with her family and in her service to the church.
Friends received 9-10 am Saturday July 15, 2023 at St. Mary Church with a Funeral Service to follow at 10 am. Rev. Fr. Donald Shadid and Rev. Fr. Christopher Shadid. Interment at Grandview Cemetery.
